Daphale Sunrise to Dawn fashion show is a fashion show organized by Miss Universe Vietnam runner-up Thao Nhi Le for her own fashion brand 'Daphale'. The concept of this show is ‘’Journey of a Woman.” The four phases of Midnight, Sunrise, Twilight, and Dawn are showcased through the elements of design, technology, and entertainment by many figures that played a role in the development of fashion and womanhood. From drag queens to LGBT+, to plus-sized models, to breast cancer survivors, all were given a platform to shine under the spotlight.

Our projected designs were influenced by the exploration of the sun’s phases illuminating the journey of Her own revelation. We played with the usage of multi-layer sheer curtains throughout the entire scenography along with high-grade projectors to accentuate the hazy, mystic atmosphere of the entire show. Below are my initial 3D render simulations of how the projected visuals will be in real-life.
I and fellow colleagues had the chance to create firstly some projection mapping work on Thao Nhi Le’s body to promote the show. I designed mostly organic and curvy line abstract motions to emphasize the body’s natural curves.
In the final scenography, we focuses on the centrepiece of these fabrics layers, for different phases of the show depicts the journey of a woman, these attract visual presentations includes natural elements such as flowers, butterflies, four seasons and nature; as a metaphor to describe her process of growing and eventually blooming.

Key moments, such as the beating heart on fire at the end of the show along with coalescing dots and waveforms of Nhi’s body to depict her final speech:
“She is fierce and strong, but she is also soft and feminine. She could be fearless and daunting, but she could also be sobbing and asking for help. She is both water and fire, winter and spring. She carries within both the depth of the darkness and the warmth of the sunshine. She carries herself through the darkest of nights, and through the gloriest of dawn. She is love, she is everything. She is a woman.”
